Visions Of Paradise

Visions Of Paradise

A Poem by KATHY SUE SILLS
"

Closing ones eyes and visualize a place of peacefulness.

"

Exotic drinks, colorful, umbrellas, passion fruit fill glasses.

Tropical oil rubbed on bodies basking in the sultry sun.

Assorted flowers pattern necks.

Women moving their hips to the ukulele in a hula dance.

Aloha is said.

MMM Hawaii is paradise.

Star lit night, creasent moon aglow.

Crickets churping in the night air.

Wild creatures making noise in the wilderness.

Sitting around an open fire roasting marshmellows and weenies.

Snuggling deep into a sleeping bag with the sky as your tent.

MMM camping is paradise.

Palominos, Stallions, Arabians, grazing on grass.

Sun coming up over the horizon.

Enjoy the summer day riding a horse,

galloping near a creek bank.

Feel the sun on your face, wind on your back.

MMM ranching is paradise.

Fingers massaging muscles.

Hot rocks on the spine of your back.

Cucumbers on puffy eyes.

Warm mud mask on face.

MMM day spa is paradise.

Out on the open sea.

Floating to far away places.

Sight seeing.

Dancing.

MMM a cruise is paradise.

Husband out with friends.

Kids at sleep-overs.

Home alone.

Silence.

MMM that is paradise.

What is paradise to you?

Eyes closed.

Mind wandering.

Paradise is..........

Nice imagery. Can do without the drinks, though. (Had to give that all up for health purposes.) My ideal holiday would be basking in the sun at the beach with the man whom my soul loves by my side. I will get a nice tan, and he will burn, burn, burn! (blonds ususally do!) lol

I cannot wait another minute for the warmth of the sun and all that would entail!! This brought on so many memories, my summers of mischief and mayhem, and also made me long for it all the more. For a moment I was in Hawaii again, clad in a bikini and lost to drums. Then I was under the stars, surround by trees, sitting by flickering warmth with the people I love, laughing during campfire stories. Each stanza taking me on a ride, filling me with fond images. Gosh, I can't wait! This was a lovely getaway, Imagination. Sigh...

The imagery in this poem makes me think of paradise and makes me want to go to a tropical location and get away for a week maybe a month. lol

I do love the warmth of summer, and all your imagery brings it alive... I used to work all day out in the sun as a teen, and then come home and lay out more! Summer itself is paradise. Thanks for the hopeful words to awaken it!
