Seasonal Love

Seasonal Love

A Poem by KATHY SUE SILLS
"

Each season brightens love in a man and his wife!

"

Coffee mugs in hand,

husband and wife sit out in the early spring moring.

Whispers of nature's wonders can be heard.

Fragrance of flowers scent the air.

Shimmers of sunlight seep through milky white clouds.

Insects buzz their good mornings.

Spring rejuvenates the earth.

Husband and wife revitalize their love.

Summer brings heat waves.

The sun hot and sultry.

Trees burst with vibrant leaves.

A breeze light and delicate blows warm air.

Husband and wife melt into each other with passion.

Love burns as  desire intensifies.

Leaves fall and blanket the ground.

Chill is in the air.

Creatures gather food for the winter.

Husband and wife fall back and slow down,

enjoying each other's company.

Love is gathered and embraced.

Nature becomes cold and frosty.

Trees stand bare.

Smoke curls from chimeys.

Wild life takes a rest.

Husband and wife rest assure their love is secure,

and will thrive for years to come.

Hand in hand life is treasured.

a calming and comforted embrace mixed with familiarity and appreciation; what every love longs for

I actually enjoyed this more than I thought I would! It has strong potential. I would like to see the parallelism that you began in St's 1,2 and 3 carried into the fourth, though. Consider as a possible last line; "Love, though hidden, though sleeping, is never conquered, but merely waits". If the last line of the first stanza were inverted, the parallelism might be even more apparent: "Love bursts forth afresh with their renewed vigor!" Thus every stanza ends with a "Love is", or a "Love does" statement. lastly, I'd try a different phrase than "husband and wife", which you used five times: "they", "our couple", "they twain", etc. Just a few random thoughts, which you are of course free to ignore!

This is what I truly think, I think this was absolutely wonderful. Love how you took each season and all its wonders and add the beautiful touch of love of a husband and wife.
And the ending: Hand in hand life is treasured, well that is just the perfect ending to a wonderful poem.

I like this story of this couple together through all the seasons and withstanding the test of time. It made me smile to think of this.

This is quite sweet! I think that in "Husband and wife rest assure their love is secure,", you may have meant assured, but other than that, it was a pleasure to read. :) Very cute!

And the cycle of the seasons is as complete as the love between man and woman. Lovely writing!
