before you ask for seconds

before you ask for seconds

A Poem by Christine

sink your teeth
into homes
you don't live in

titillate
your
taste buds
with

hospitality

sit at the dinner tables,
makes pleasantries,
act like you've been there before

wait for the
stomach aches;

there's vomit
welling
behind your eyes
from the dinners
you rarely ate
together
