Tragedies

A Poem by Rick
"

A poem about different types of tragedies. Including: Nature, war, space and terrorist tragedies. This poem was written a few years back.

"

Tragedies are always going to be part of our life,

Rather it be personal or to our fellow Americans,

It will always be part of life strife's,

Tragedies cannot and will not be ban.

When tragedies happen, it takes a toll on our hearts,

It knocks us to our knees andcauses us to lose hope,

We just have to pick up the pieces and look for a new start,

We have to look ahead and not just stand and mope.

Tragedies has struck America several times over the years,

It is widespread and not just in one situation,

When it happens, it brings to everyone tears,

It affects everyone and his or her emotions.

In wartime, it was the attack on Pearl Harbor,

In addition, all the lives lost in all the wars,

Among us, it spread solitude and feelings of somber,

It raised emotions in everyone a far.

In piece time tragedies, still strikes among us,

Oklahoma bombing, 911 and all the school shootings,

Why do people want to kill? Makes people lose all trust,

Innocent people died for no reasoning.

Tornadoes, earthquakes, floods and huricanes,

Are all tragedies that is caused by nature,

After they strike, lives are never the same,

We just have to move on and look toward thr future.

Space has its tragedies also; some you never forget,

What now is known to Apollo 0 to all,

That fiery tomb on top of that rocket,

Americans bonded and stood tall.

Then came the Space Shuttle Callenger as it took flight,

The world watched as it exploded right in front of their eyes,

Watched as pieces fell back to earth; it was not a beautiful sight,

Everyone grew silent with gasp and cries.

Now the Space Shuttle Columbia was lost today,

America's first space shuttle and its crew are no longer here,

Over the skies of Texas; holding its crew at bay,

Once again, Americans face the tragic emotions and fear.

Through all these tragedies that"s listed above,

Americans ban together as one to show their sorrows,

With strength, courage, hope and love,

They look toward the future and for a better tomorrow.

These people did not die in vain, not at all,

They will never be forgotten; they died heroes at best,

Though America has been knocked to her knees again, she still stands tall,

Peace is with America and their families as they lay these heroes to rest.

As we look into the future and a new day begins,

As hope, faith and love fills our bodies,

We know tragedies will never end,

We have to prepare ourselves for these tragedies.

America is proud and stands tall,

To have people like this in her arms holding them tight,

America mourns and with her love; doesn"t fall,

The strength of the eagle soars and takes flight.

Therefore, to all the families of these tragedies that had happen,

You are in our thoughts and in our hearts,

We share your sorrow and the burden,

We look toward tomorrow as a new start.
