“Cripples S’Layin in the Street”

“Cripples S’Layin in the Street”

A Poem by stephen dillon

“I’ve been walking for days honey; you may be going my way

“Why don’t you give a tired old man a ride”?

“I know things ‘round here are going wild but just remember,

I’m on your side.”

“Don’t trip your alarm on the count of my rusty ole’ look

I’ve just been broken, beaten, and torn”

“Next time a man is layin’ in the road have the decency to honk your horn

“And run his a*s over”
