Pawprints on the heart

Pawprints on the heart

A Poem by Ronnie

The brownest eyes and blackest fur,

Unlike a cat he doesn't purr,

Instead he has a bark of fury,

With such good looks he parades in glory,

A start so sad suppressed by strife,

We've strived so hard for an opposite life,

Marley loves playing with his dearest friend,

A saint is Megan with patience to commend,

They possess a bond so strong and tight,

Never too far from each others sight,

At times their antics drive us mad,

They make up for it though when we're feeling sad,

A gentle paw can soothe ones pain,

A selfless act with nothing to gain,

From little licks to a smothering kiss,

Their presence so bold when gone you'll miss,

Such intelligent creatures and totally loyal,

With affection and love it's hard not to spoil,

They make each day a joy to live,

Our love and devotion the least we can give.
