The Pain of Another

The Pain of Another

A Poem by InkBlack

The pain of another has found me,

It has entered my mind,

And it’s possessing me.

Your tears transfer to my own eyes,

And fall,

Soaking my blankets.

I read your scrolls,

Words of anguish, abuse and death fill my eyes,

And it enrages me as it saddens me.

Your torturers,

They remind me that petty hatred is thriving,

And they make me feel hopeless for the world.

I know I should not grieve for you,

But I can’t control myself.

Through all the scars and blood,

The sorrow and confusion,

And the hatred for yourself and others,

Your soul shines through the paper,

And I cannot help but love you.
