Pandemic Fatigue

Pandemic Fatigue

A Poem by MCS
"

When you find yourself in hell keep going... Churchill

"

These numbers have no names

However, we add them up

What’s the science behind the numbers

Mental shake these numbers have names

I feel their loss

Even though I do not know their names

A new lexicon has emerged

As lover of words I could do without this lesson

For these numbers

Are loved ones now gone

Yes, they have names.
And yet our fearless leader's response is "It is what it is"---
what a superlative effort to display empathy for those who have lost loved ones so tragicially
to something that could have been reigned in early with proper addressing.
they do have names, many names...they are not just statistics...there is a register
for this hotel of death....This is powerful...

Gee
Each number a hole in the life of at least one person, most times many people.
Roll out the vaccine and let's hope some semblance of normality returns before 2021 is done :)

ditto! you got that right
Each number is a person. A loved one gone. If you could count the cost of the grief this pandemic has caused it would travel to the moon and back. Praying that vaccines will be readily available to stem the tide of death. 2020, a year of world disaster. Thank you for the read and reminding us that there is a face to each number. All the best and keep safe.
