Atonement

Atonement

A Poem by MCS
"

The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis. ~ Dante Alighieri

"

During these moments

One can only see red

And nothing past that

These displays of corruption

Of cowardice and deep-rooted self interest

Are enough to rob decent people of hope

However one must step back

Take a moment to reflect

And recollect our thoughts

Because we know

That there will be a reckoning

Which will bring about realignment

We wish to be around

To take the time to savor

The dismantling of this evil

and thus we move on...from this travesty...and try to understand what was in their minds and hearts.
