Her

Her

A Poem by Devesh

I used to sit there,
beside the fireplace,
watch her dance around,
in her frock of pretty lace.
The warmth of her presence
was warmer than the fire,
being with her,
I just couldn't tire
of her lovely smile.
But now it's been a while,
It's been a while
since she sat in my lap,
like she used to,
back when she loved me.

Beautiful. I love how you painted such a beautiful picture. I can envision the room with the fire going. Her dancing around - then suddenly disappearing, leaving you alone in the room with nothing but the fireplace to warm you. Stunning write, Devesh! Love this! xo (:

This one settles slowly into the scattered spaces of my heart where lost loves dwell.. that last line left me breathless and reveals so much pain
