A Poem by Jacques - iNkwire
"

The first of four poems I wrote for a special person and the only one I can share. A snapshot of first love. Originally written between December 2016 and March 2017.

"
I've a spring in my step,
but my leg didn't break
No botox injected,
but a grin froze my face

My chin floats higher now,
but my neck has no brace
Without operation,
my chest an open space

I always wear a watch,
yet never know the time
Even when the sun's down,
My days have a new shine

Although all is brighter,
I was not wearing shades
Nor did I buy a pass
To board this higher plane

My lips could not cage words
My eyes floated into stairs
Unexpected outcomes incurred
Only this explanation to share:

Familiar words mean different things
I'm not a bird, but always want to sing
I've not traveled far, but so much is new
I'm not as I was before I met you

About
Hi. Most of my work is poetry, but I intend to put some stories out in the future. I write about what makes me feel strongly. This approach mostly results in romantic pieces, but I hope to branch o.. more..
