Hammers

Hammers

A Poem by Jacques - iNkwire
"

This piece explores the thin line between losing control and relinquishing it. Kind of a painful write.

"
I sell hammers for cheap
So cheap, in fact,
that they're practically free

A smile, some eyes, or a hello
is enough to make me say,
"Here you go!"

It doesn't take long
for me to give them away
I give it up quick and hope people stay

It's almost like an act of charity
as if I need more reasons
to continue to bleed

Then I shatter
at the slightest swing
It's the same - whether a bash or a sting

I wonder how long
this will all last
before it's just red sand instead of bloodied glass

How long will it take
for this lesson to stick?
To learn to be deliberate with my picks

I don't know if this can go on
or when I'll be done
Each day I ask, "When will I run out of blood?"

About
Hi. Most of my work is poetry, but I intend to put some stories out in the future. I write about what makes me feel strongly. This approach mostly results in romantic pieces, but I hope to branch o.. more..
