Eat My Words

Eat My Words

A Poem by Jacques - iNkwire
"

A piece exemplifying one of (definitely not the first) times I ate my words when meeting someone. I honestly can't remember if this is done or not, but I can't continue anyway.

"
Why did you become special?
Couldn't you just stay cute?
Sweet, warm, friendly
and beautiful to boot

When not in front of my eyes,
you're in the back of my mind
and just a second of your voice
gives me the biggest smile

Maybe if I didn't hear your name
It wouldn't be stuck on my tongue
Maybe things wouldn't have changed
If I didn't joke I was sprung

Maybe if I didn't have a rough week,
You wouldn't have popped up
Maybe if I wasn't meek,
My heart would not run amok

Everywhere I go
I hope I see you there
Because I don't forget
the last time I did and where

I swore I'd play no long game
I promised I want no one,
but the months are beyond eight
and I know I'm not done

About
Hi. Most of my work is poetry, but I intend to put some stories out in the future. I write about what makes me feel strongly. This approach mostly results in romantic pieces, but I hope to branch o.. more..
