Blood

Blood

A Poem by Jacques - iNkwire
"

Written about what I will refer to as "heart fatigue"

"
Why do I have to bleed?
Is my heart not pale enough?
Is this agony a need?
Is life not already tough?

Feels like others lose
a paper cut's worth,
but when I bleed,
It's like I give birth

I want off this ride
and these thorns out of my side
Yet it's like I can't decide
when I've enough scars on my hide

I get to fly so high
and then I'm forced to fall
Now and then I wonder
if I should just burn it all

I lose so much blood
and I put in so much work
Instead of reaping fruit,
I get dead seeds and dirt

"It's not a game," they say
"It's not about keeping score"
If it's not something we play,
then why do I feel like a loser on the floor?

About
Hi. Most of my work is poetry, but I intend to put some stories out in the future. I write about what makes me feel strongly. This approach mostly results in romantic pieces, but I hope to branch o.. more..
