What has become of our writing?

What has become of our writing?

A Story by irrationalwriter

A small drabble in my head, sorry if it is confusing.

"

Is it that now, in the eve of change and destruction, that a new way of writing will come to us?
I have thought about this for awhile now and I cannot shake the feeling that we are going to lose
the art of writing and all that we will have to our names is just some end of random text,
a new language that we will have created. Something that  is dumber than our true intellectual
identity. Think of it, what do you write down when it comes to texts? Or even when we IM?
Most teenagers will usually text in abbreviations. "Hey, how r u?" Is very common in a teenager's
language. Their language is based off of simple sounds of the words to make a sentence.
"lol, thats crazy! :o" Is also common.

So where did the art of writing disappear to? When did we lose our want to  write something better

than that of our peers? When did writing get shot to the curb as something that can only be a past time and

not a refined job? The next generation of young adults do not notice the importance of littiture any more. It

is as if we are losing the want for a good story.

Again, sorry if it is confusing. I want to continue this some more, but I cannot find a good point to stand on yet. Please comment and find any spelling or grammar errors possible. Thank you.
