Paradox

Paradox

A Poem by Connor Veenstra

Who's more pious?
Those who'r scientific or those who worship science?
We study our skin, but never look at what's inside us,
They let anyone drop if their grip slackens in the slightest,
Lashing out in violence against those who dare deny us,
Standing our ground against protesters who chid us in defiance,
Yelling while deciding that we have the touch of Midas,
Standing on a Bible while we're preaching self-reliance

preaching but not practicing what we preach...pretenders who really care only about what's on the outside...what color is underneath the skin? we all bleed Red...and the inner organs all look the same.
and we all have hearts, why don't we use them.
really like this ....in sixth line...think you meant "chide"---
