My friend joined the revolution today

A Poem by isiah_holmes
"

This is one part of a 2 part poem. This one from a conservitive teen talking about his friends intrest in the civil unrest in the country. This is his feelings on the issue. Stay tuned for part 2

"

My friend joined the revolution today
much to my shock
a fight over control of my nation
A door I wish I could  lock

It started with fear and threats
our leadership divided
And the more we drowned in debts
the more the nation splintered

It continued when the police to over
beating and arresting and killing
and then a person took a picture
only adding to the countries billing

the fight only grew and soon we'll be at war
all because one person didn't like change
and then left dog s**t on our leaders door
Shaking the liberals to the very core.

My friend joined the revolution today
and I feel sorry for him
I think I will join the army tomorrow
so he won't fight Someone he doesn't know

This pretty much sums up how wars used to start. The last line was an unexpected ending. I don't know much about the Trevon Martin case, but I still like this piece
