December, Skys, Wisconsin

December, Skys, Wisconsin

A Poem by Isiah Holmes

A poem

December in Wisconsin's sky's
have yet to bestow onto the people
frozen trinkets, as has been
in years past
Instead, the days are mild and bright,
have the people not seen the catalyst
to the gods last fight?

And so I find myself here, restful in a place called
"point.0" while the air's touch is anything but
Gazing down a hill, dotted with ancient trees
who's canopies are naked
Transparent, without those lofty trophies
now bracing the earth
as I stomp upon this thing of beauty
and Atum
