Shattered Shell

Shattered Shell

A Poem by Israr

The shell sputters a

crack-ing noise and

looking down upon it

the dread in my eyes well up

shattered and jagged lines

forming in a second on the

hard and protective layer of

flesh and bones are more

than enough to ruin

its symmetrical value.

the light runs through the

hollow inside

awakening it from a deep slumber.
