Why Love?

Why Love?

A Poem by Rhonda
"

I've found that everything I write seems to be dark and cold. I'm trying something new.

"

Why do people write about love?
Immortalize it in ink and tears.
There’s so much more in this world.

What is love compared to the depth
Found in hate, pain, or envy.
It is so easy to feel anything… but love.

I write about love to feel love.
I write about love because there is not enough--
In this world, in my heart.

I write about love because without love
We will die, harden up.
Have we already?
Have I?

I love the questions and answers you pose in this piece and then the statements you make as well. I especially loved these two stanza -

"I write about love to feel love.
I write about love because there is not enough--
In this world, in my heart.

I write about love because without love
We will die, harden up.
Have we already?
Have I?"

Some really powerful and thought-provoking statements there.

A sad question preceded by unanswerable ponderings.

I hope the answer is "no."

Hi everyone! I've been a member of WritersCafe for a few years now, but, unfortunately, stopped accessing the community three or so years ago. The reason being, of course, that my writing took a backs.. more..
