Being Human

Being Human

A Poem by J Shinoda
"

We are ll human, and crying is a part of it.

"
Though others may think crying is weakness,
I see it as strength, for admitting defeat
for witnessing fear, for committing failure
for feeling pain and releasing everything.

Each tear we shed is a part of letting go
A moment of confession, that we cannot be alone
A natural emotion that nobody can deny
A walk away from pain and of welcoming grief.

For when we cry, we all conceive
A need of a higher being, or a friend to lend a hand
A grasp of right to keep our hearts beating
A longing of rescue, for empathy and relief.

There is no man who doesn't emit a tear
for when we are born, it is also born with us.
There's no wrong in crying, it is a natural face
Every drop of it is a definition of being human.

Indeed, we can all use a good cry now and then. It is cleansing. Tears of happiness..at the birth of a child....tears of sadness at the death of a loved one. Good write. Lydi**

Thank you for your comment! I feel grateful!
Uplifting in an ironic sense, to cry helps release inner turmoil and pain that could otherwise destroy the spirit !

A purposeful paradox, wonderfully creative with sentient aplenty !

We try to show the world a brave face by keeping it all in but actually the braves thing is crying it out,at list it shows acceptance of what ever happened.

That's true and I also believe crying is like surrender, not of fear but of humbling oneself. Great .. read more
Such a melancholic and heart-provoking poem. You truly captured the very essence of crying and of being a human being. It really touched my heart, and to be honest, almost made me cry. Yeah. I like this. And I really do believe that crying is not for the faint-hearted, but it builds our inner courage. Shedding a tear does not mean you've given up, but it would mean you have accepted the pain, and that you are ready to face the challenges that will come to your life. Thumbs up! :)
