My school days were short

My school days were short

A Poem by Jack Force

My school days were short,

My virgin days were shorter.

The first kiss felt like the flower it looked like.

But I didn’t say the name,

My lips sealed shut.

I thought I was mature,

Thought I was clever.

My best times were when I wasn’t trying,

Next in line, but I’ll be the first to build.

I liked the first two stanzas a lot. Although the line about virgin days had me thinking the poem was going down a completely different route (and I was disappointed it didn't), they were both really good. I was still following you in the third stanza and you completely lost me by the last. Were you still talking about kissing? Anyway, a good write either way.
