In Lieu of Sunny Days

In Lieu of Sunny Days

Sunshine on my pillow makes me happy

"

In Lieu of Sunny Days

By jack

I wake to find the ripples of a distant weeping light

Forces fed of clouded skies come showering this night

Drenched among the tepid dreams, misfortune brings the storm

Buried deep in thoughtless sound, of all this world hath born

Though I shall stand before this sky astonished in its view

Wading in a pool of hope and faith long overdue

Facing that so terrible, awash its torrid gaze

To cast it far beyond my reach in lieu of sunny days

Thanks man. I appreciate it.
Without the storms we would not fully appreciate the sunshine. Such is the state of being human. Nicely done.

Thank you
I really enjoyed reading this poem. I love the metaphors of comparing sadness to the rain, and despite having the constant showers washing over you, you have this hope that sunny days are just around the corner. I love the imagery, great job!

Dear Sera, not near as stunning as your eyes, but thank you for the kind words.
Drenched among the tepid dreams, misfortune brings the storm
indeed. A succinct write yet saturated with atmosphere. Well done.

Short but how strong. One can feel the emotions. Nice image as well because I painted a similar looking landscape yesterday. Thanks for sharing this write.
