What does it matter

What does it matter

A Poem by Jack...
"

Babies shot in strollers??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

"

What does it matter

by jack

Shrugging my shoulders

Drenched, constant rain

What does it matter

Stones against pain

Arms ever folded

Taking a breath

Reading the column

A headline spells death

Font bold and bearing

Counting the names

All of the only

Spelled but the same

Cold is this railing

Deep of the form

Clinging for life

The midst of the storm

Hurried intentions

Rushed, never still

Dreaming of nothing

Endless the chill

Carving initials

Titles unknown

Pleading with nature

Leave me alone

Hands in my pockets

Counting the change

Drowning in life

Torrential the rain

Drops bound of leather

Strapped to the brace

Bolted positions

I come to trace

If I do matter

Then why am I here

Facing the forecast

Coated in fear

Babies shot in strollers...I seem to recall something about that. No need to refresh my memory, I probably blocked it for a reason...

Very solid piece, Jack.

Sometimes those are the ones we are most proud of. Always my pleasure, Jack.
Makes me think of so many things... I am not sure of your exact meaning! You've really got me thinking. This really does tug at the heart and mind.

There is so much in this poem, I am astounded. Simple yet complex. A perfect mix of words, really.

Well done!

:), NEVER say that!!! it is an honor to me to be able to read such profound works!!
Jack this is just fabulous. It captures the cloying feeling that can permeate life when we are in despair. You use great imagery like chills and drowning that are highly effective. This is one of the best I have read on the subject. You are quite versatile in your subject matter and that is why I always like to stop by and read your work.

Jack this is an amazing read, it really speaks to so much to how many of us feel, sad write from you, which pains me. Your poetry is usually joyous and makes me feel light, this one definitely is a downer and I can feel the weight of it.

No doubt about that Jack, but your poetry always helps me to rise above that feeling of dread...my p.. read more
Been asking these same type of questions all week. So many losses, tragedies. I am spent emotionally - bleeding out in a way.
