O’ lovely flower, thy bloom be my life

Offerings delicate, soothe o’er the soul

Quench me thy beauty, sweet fragrance adoring

Passionate wings do my heartbeat enroll

 

Patterns eau rainbows awash O’ thy kiss

Elegance petal’d, trace wind whistled chill

Silken thy touch ever so of the spring

O’ of thy garden my breath pleads its fill

 

I take my rest of thy fair comfort pure

Such is the solace thy presence doth lull

Awash, O’ the loveliness, bathed in thy scent

Cast away cares, love hath come to console

 

Heart O’ my heart, soul O’ my soul

Gossamer beauty, touch constant so tender

Gracious creation of love softly gilded

Deep of thy charm I do soundly surrender

 

Captive thy kiss, pray my sentence eternal

Cleanse O’ my life of all wondered defeat

Receive of thy chambers, twilight illumined

So perfectly placed as I crawl in retreat

 

Inflorescence paints of its brush, swiftly sweet

Bringing to life what I stand to behold

Pristine thy features, one glance as come true

Dare now I praise thee, so quietly bold

 

Formed in a dream of sun crept endeavor

Cascade the rain as it tickles thy leaves

Strong of a winter cold blanket of sleeping

Lovely this flower in which I believe

 

O’ perfect blossom, in my heart thee doth live

Seeping of love in an endless supply

Take this I pray in the promise of keeping

Thy wondrous bloom found at play in my eye

 

Many a year, o’er the day since we counted

Joyful the bliss that is found in your wave

Open the gate, serendipitous thy garden

Lead me the path to this beauty I crave

 

O’ lovely flower, thy bloom be my life

Peace does express of the soft light above

Nurture thy smile for thy happiness pleases

Whelm o’er my days of thy so perfect love

This reads like renaissance poetry. Right up there with the Bard...the language, the meter - the romantic content - its brilliant. Its lovely. It is inspired. Your muse, if there is a muse (and I know that not all works are inspired by our muses - some poems just happen because we write) must adore you.

Since so much of what I pen is from the dork side - I am always in awe of those who can consistently write with a positive lean - love, God, the better parts of humanity - it is an encouragement to read and to register that not everyone is an ornery old goat like me.
