A Poem by Jack...

To share

I’ve taken from this endless dream

a sight for sore and weary eyes

When clouds of morning frown of dark

and winds howl in serenades for dancing leaves

Still life exists in rotted stumps and fallen branch

on fence lines overgrown with time

As weather changes in the east,

where through thick drapes eyes peer

White on white and foot step designs scatter,

erratic as the snow flake waltzes…

Another day, filled with desires beyond the pane

where fingers have etched a heart… breath exposes

And moisture runs downward, streaking glass

into cupped hands that long the taste

of life far removed from this frozen nightmare

and I offer my endless dream to you…to share

I love this stanza because it speaks of another chance as a new day begins. It's beautiful. Justine :)

Thank you Rita. I am happy you enjoyed this.
"Still life exists in rotted stumps and fallen branch
on fence lines overgrown with time" - so persistent is life biologically. How beautiful is the cycle yet we grieve.

I couldn't quit reading this one, honestly. The only saddening that compared to the poem was when it was over. I felt I could have read it all night.

Xavier, I truly appreciate your kindness...always.
Although
Sadness and regret
Fills your soul.

Your words paint
A soulscape of the land
Of a place
Very much alive with life
Often overlook
By us.

Thank you
For reminding me
Even the most desolete place
Fills us
With true beauty
And love.

You've cast a magical spell over the readers of your work with this one, Jack. No matter how cold and gray a day might be, we can be transported by such gorgeous imagery...and then the offer to share your dream with us all. Just so lovely. Lydi**

A really wonderful love/atmospheric write. I felt I was looking through a hole in the fog into your heart.
