Another lonely Sunday afternoon

Another lonely Sunday afternoon

A Poem by Jack...

Another lonely Sunday afternoon

Another lonely Sunday afternoon

Winter breathes its chilled winds of splintered hopes

and browns sits where once played greens

Empty stems lack their beauty

Wilted vines weave fragile on weathered fence posts

As one shadow stretches this back porch

and another beer is opened

Staring off into nothing,

understanding this feeling in barren breaths

Watching leafless trees beg forgiveness

as gray skies paint my eyes

in broken twigs and braided fears

Yet this too shall end with sun warmed days

as spring makes its triumphant return

Still thoughts of wayward emotions fill my mind…

will I see this spring, breathe this air,

watch butterflies frolic in a nectar’d haze

drinking in the beauty of the season or sit here

counting rain etched floor boards

gazing at my eternal winter, by myself ~ unloved…

on another lonely Sunday afternoon

'.. Watching leafless trees beg forgiveness ~ as gray skies paint my eyes ~ in broken twigs and braided fears .. ' ~ in spite of the sadness of this poem, its need and loneliness, there's so much beauty here that i almost forgot the theme. You have a way but, please, dear goodness, this is imagination rather than reality, my friend from over the ocean.

Every day's worth something.. most of all, waking up.. (my friend)
winter and barren landscape seem to be so inspiring to poets, for some reason...i find november such a cold, in-between kind of month, but write a lot during that time too..

the desolate wasteland of winter is so aptly described here...and the hope for rebirth with spring...

I was just about to ask you to upload a poem because I have been so wanting to read more from you today, and then you did, and I have the biggest smile because I get to read you again but it's sad now because of your afternoon...

You are never unloved, Jackomantic. For one, I'm here and I love ya loads! :) You're the bestest friend anyone could ask for and you're never alone. Frieda and I are only a message away, and you know that.

Smile for me my friend,
for when you smile,
they whole world is smiling with you...
but when you are sad and feeling blue
the whole world is feeling blue with you too.

Lame, I know, but I wanted to make you smile....?
