Eating crow till Sunday bleeds

Eating crow till Sunday bleeds

A Poem by Jack...

Insensitive words blame

Anchoring doubts in deep sea nonsense

Missing the mark in absurdity

Sometimes we speak without thinking

Offensive whispers merge

Rearing ugly heads of shame

Rearranging what once was

Yelling in moronic voices

Announcing secrets

Never stopping to think

Dangling from tethered phrases

Raging at the machine

Eating crow till Sunday bleeds

Apologizing once again

isn't this the truth. I just read another post by another writer who took an unpopular position on a hot topic and the few reviews he received were all negative. I wonder sometimes when I stand up and speak or write and I garner criticism is it because I'm not thinking or perhaps that's the blue plate special - crow. You never know.

IAMSORRYANDREA... Who's Andrea, Jack? I think she might soften up a bit upon reading this apology. I like "dangling from tethered phrases" and more so, the title. Is it an idiomatic expression or you invented it? Good one, Jack.

Thank you so very much Madalyn. Sometimes we do.
I agree with Jacob, sometimes we humans repeat the same things over and over and keep on apologizing and wonder why we keep on doing those hurtful things, we could as well as save us from keeping on apologizing..good thing is, at least some apologize, there are some that I know of that will never say sorry even if they are on the wrong.

wow, jack....yes, we are apologizing way too often...why? because we too often speak without
thinking first.
nicely done..."dangling from tethered phrases"

Thanks so very much Jacob. Indeed you are right and I am the worst
Yep, my favourite piece of yours to date. Who'd a thunk it, the romantic has a bitter streak.:)

It's all fun and games KL until someone gets an eye put out. Thanks so very much for stopping by.
There is nothing more powerful than the words we speak. An unpleasant dish, that crow, but much like bitter medicine, it is necessary for healing. This is a different direction for you, Jack, showing love from a different and very honest perspective.

Thanks so much Rita. I am thrilled you understood where this was going.
honesty is a plate well served cold...all one can do is apologize for it's somewhat feathery arrival. A toothpick might be necessary to removed the remnants. Clean teeth and clean hearts for Sunday's brunch. :)
