Say So You

Say So You

A Poem by jaime

To you I am dead in the street

But all that’s left is chalk lines

Around what was me to you.

And what you see

On the inside

Is a black rock

That’s been crushed, used,

And driven over

And painted on

With still white lines

And still white lies

Spill from your lips

And smear away what’s left

Of me

 to you.

And you are blind to the memory

Of the little girl between the lines

In the street that runs

All over town

And in front of cars

If that’s what it took to win.

And she would crawl on her knees

Down that street

If that’s what it took to win

The race.

And you.

And you don’t see what this means

To me and you.

So you don’t know that girl

That once was in a line

With the others waiting for the gun;

Her life was running

Past the others;

And she didn’t stop running

’Til she was taken down

At the knees

One at a time

For a lesser love.

"And the line you crossed was thin

When you crawled into the rest of your life.",

Say so you.

To you I am dead in the street
white lies
Spill from your lips
And smear away what's left
Of me
Of the little girl between the lines
In the street that runs
All over town
And in front of cars
If that's what it took to win.
And she would crawl on her knees
Down that street
If that's what it took to win
The race.
And you
Her life was running
Past the others;
And she didn't stop running
'Til she was taken down
oh how lovely sweet and tender ,
i will run all through the streets
all over town,in front of cars
i will i will
everything to win the race..and you
oh how romantic and sweet ,ready to race my heart out
have to win the race and you
if i had to crawl on knees to get to you
i will do ...i will do
lovely work full of emotions

Wow! Angry, passionate, and remorseful all in one. I love it! Our hearts don't see the line until well after we've crossed it. To be on the outside wishing to be in with love, truly beats us down. Again, I love this piece!
