Tempest

Tempest

A Poem by Joshua Daniel

In a cathedral of trees
my feet plant heavily
I drew in breath to speak
and out you came from me

I felt our time run out
I saw it in the leaves
A great storm on the wind
that brought me to my knees

My heart beat with the thunder
my feet struck like lightening
I fled with newfound wonder
my vision tightening

The sky rang like a bell
and the deluge swelled the river
And as my faith it fell
the trees began to shiver

The gusts tore up their root
and carried them away
Although the choice was moot
I plunged into the fray

I cursed out at the gale
called out above the din
But I couldn't pierce the veil
my plea just couldn't win

And then there came a quell
From clouds the sun was freed
I sat there on a hill
Only a little seed.

This is awesome. I love the language you've used, and the rythym flows perfectly. Truly amazing.
