Break Away

Break Away

A Poem by She comes, when I call her Buttons.

Poetry of an odd structure. Pay close attention to how the stanzas have matching lines.

Break Away

As I break away from gravity

I feel my body lift from reality

No longer must I witness these fatalities

I close my eyes, smile, and break away

I feel my body life from reality

I accept this weightlessness with tranquility

I close my eyes, smile, and break away

Never again will i feel the pain of payment

I accept this weightlessness with tranquility

Finally, serenity

Never again will I feel the pain of payment

This is how the world stops turning

Finally, serenity

With not even the wind to brush the bangs from my face

This is how the world stops turning

Tomorrow brings a brand new day

Author's Note

She comes, when I call her Buttons.
This was written from the perspective of a soldier, dying in battle, but not being afriad of death.
