Lets Just Pretend

Lets Just Pretend

A Poem by She comes, when I call her Buttons.
"

Make your own assumptions

"

When your nervous like I am

It leaves you hoping like I am

Staring out from the stages

Empty seats and random faces

Are the bright lights just distorting my view?

Ill just pretend, I seen you there

Lets just pretend, you actually care

Count the street lights as I walk in the rain

Its close to midnight, still dreaming of fame

Well. I thought I'd ask you to be there for me

No point in asking, when I know you wont be

Once upon a time

I did this for you

You meant so much, you see?

Now im grown up

with stars in my eyes

head first, ill take on my dreams

After today, I gave up on you

So now, i do this for me.

She comes, when I call her Buttons,

Well... at least she comes when you call!

I never understood this, if it were my children - every attempt would be made to avoid hendering me from being there.

Obviously, he is your father and has to be the provider, sorry!

You were very expressive in this write, you gave your perspective and bled through honestly.

Very good write, keep it up!

Have a great week,

Legacy

I can totally relate to this... I too am a bit of a musician myself. Been playing guitar since age 9.
My mom's never been there. my da always busted his a*s to take care of my little brother and I... and I feel your longing for that person to be there. This brought tears to my eyes.

Thanks so much, Maggie. Yea, it deffinitely hurts, but helps you to be the better person when it comes time for you to be there for somone else(;

It's so sad when I hear these kinds of story's. I had two absentee parents and raised myself so I know the want and the need to dream some up. With my children, I do it different. I'm in there lives and loving there faces up every day. I think you did a great job here expressing yourself :D

Musician. Getting pretty far now too. Its more, my dad never shows up for anything I put hard work into. The one person, that I would really like to actually come watch.

This seems like it's about someone trying to either become an actor or a musician, and that the one they love it's there. Good write keep it up.
