She Wolf

She Wolf

A Poem by Janani Sree Ganesh
"

My first poem! :)

"

She looked back abruptly

The last time she’d see

For he was leaving

Somewhere far for her reach

Doubt gripped her thoughts

He blended in her breath

And coursed through her blood

Blurring her vision

Then, nothing meant anything

All meant him

Those days, now memories

Etched in the hearts

All those promises, letters

To be kept and treasured

For she knew he'd return

In a gift of ribbons with joy.

Thank you!! :)
Focusing on that sort of bond that you describe in this poem is a good place to start for a first poem. I think it is one of the strongest bonds we can know as people, and it brings out a whole new side of us. You show us the meaning of waiting and honoring a promise to a lover. That is a truly special gift to have such a quality. The last stanza in this one if my favorite.

You did a fine job on this considering it's your first effort toward poetry. The ending is filled with hope and faith. Nice writing.

I can spot a fellow romantic a mile away! This is a beautiful poem and your first? Amazing. I look forward to reading more. Although it is written with a hint of sadness, you have managed to create a feeling of hope in this wistful tale of love.
