An ode to toothpaste

An ode to toothpaste

A Poem by Janani Sree Ganesh
"

Toothpastes make me fresh!

"

In vain to lift my heavy eyelids

As the early mornin’ sun shines

Breaks my peaceful sleep

Groggily make my way to bath

How poisonous my mouth tastes

Ugh. Yuck.

Like a pulped snake

With a sour mushroom garnished

Yet, an uncontrollable urge to talk!

Nah.

I don’t wanna poison my house

Mouth pursed ‘n sealed avoids rouse

Bumped my head, groaned an “Argh”

Damn!

My mouth would blight the Earth

Came the rescue " toothpaste ‘n brush

The epitome of my survival

Sweet mint ‘n freshness along synthetic firm strands

Sterilised the requirement, my mouth

Voila!

Poison turns to fragrance

I can now plume my breath

Until the next morning!
