Masterpiece is Born

Masterpiece is Born

A Poem by mynameisyou

I want to write and write and write

I want to get published

appear on national television and radio,

drive my Bentley around like a prize toy

with a tower of books on the front seat,

showing my face, for the world to know.

I want words to dominate my brain

savor in my mouth

so my tongue can get a

real taste of my new spice,

garnish it

and salivate at my delicate stories and poems.

At night I want to grasp my pen, write devotedly,

posture my fingers

to the contort, that drives them

as I live, scrolling

in my head,

ideas breeding on my brain

and crying to get out

soaking my teeming mind

until finally that masterpiece is born.

Thank you for the review. Actually, I write because I am retired and it's just something to do. I enjoy using words and an abundance of words went flowing through my head when I was writing that poem. Now, becoming famous sounds marvelous! But I don't think too many people have become famous from writing poetry.

Be blessed
Janette

I like this, but on question: do you write to get famous or to communicate in the way you can best achieve it?
