WORDS OF LOVE, WISDOM, HATE AND ANGUISH

"

The Second Wave

1

Conflicts between two people
With complications
In their minds
They do not know
What they really want
Or what they desire to find

So in loneliness
Following disappear
They search each other out
Trying hard to find
This thing called love
Moreover, what their life is about

Yet maybe because
They want so much
They make more of it
Then they should
Instead of letting
Their emotions grow
Only then
Can their love
Be understood

Where will I send this letter of love
I could send it to you
Would you open and read it
With an understanding
Heart

Or express amusement at my words
Would you refuse its delivery
Marking it return to sender
Or would you answer it
Tell me the things
I long to hear

Could you reply
Seal yours
With an open mind
Full of anticipation
Answer me not

For this letter
Shell never be sent
I will just add it
To the others
I have put aside
Stamped return to sender

It is that day of the year
When you remember
Your birth
While everyone else
Remembers your age
The years have been good to you
So my the years yet to come
For they bring not just older in age
But years of wisdom
The joy in knowing

That you have guided your children
Your husband
Family and friends
And watched as they have grown
learned
Moreover
You remember their birthdays
As another of yours
So happy birthday
Now and then

Soon the winds of
Self-destruction
Will sweep across the land
Nature will unleash
Her warriors
To make her final stand

To revenge her earth
With a devastation
Not seen before
The storms are coming
So weather down
Tightly close your door.

Coming Soon

5

Walk with me
Through the day
Starting
At dawn
Going wherever we go

Our security
Is in the flight
Of our mobility
There is safety here
Unwarranted
Or not

Its safety
Lies
In the silence
Of our thoughts

Moreover, those are
Secure from each other
As
Of now

It is Safety

6

I must have thought
That the night coming
Would save me
From your memories
As I went down
Into my pillow softly
Holding them as serenity

I thought it would
Yet instead
I found those places
Where shadows
And
Secrets hide
For I still found you

Saved

I wrote this poem below for my father a few years before his death and left it in his shirt pocket when laid to rest years later. After a late night out with the band, and a early morning ride home, I drove by my parent’s house, my father was sitting on the front porch, lost in thought and reflection, I saw this write in the thought of that time.

See the old man
Sitting alone
Thinking of days
Much younger
Then he
Think on old man
Let your soul
Surge free

Out of nothing
Came something
Us
The chaos
Through which
Our existence is
Became order

Our order
Became balanced
Our
Balance
Became
Our rotation

And
Our rotation
Became
Our universe
Fashioned
As we loved
On our axis

I see you
From my tower
As you pass
Outside my walls
The image of a face that
Could be mine

A knowledge born of loving
Touching, hurting
And
Surviving through it all

Gives me the feeling
Of knowing the substance
Of this life
My life

Your existence within it
If I could have your self
With mine
At my request
I could not speak
For I have already spoken

My Silence

10

Looking into your eyes
I see the sun
Even in darkness
Yet at times
Like now
I think that
The sun
Will disappear
I
Will disappear

Or
Even worst
You will disappear
Before I have
The chance
To give you
All
Of my love
That is my fear
Will it disappear

Disappear

11

At last the tears between us
Are swallowed in the past
For the weary hours of waiting
Seemed to have all faded fast

When we were apart my love
Each day seemed like a year
Life for me was empty
Equal in doubt and fear

Loneliness is bitter
I have known its icy touch
Its hell to be away from the one
Who means so very much

Waiting

12

Love has a meaning
As vast as a void
Full of passion
Loyalty
Devotion
So intense
It is overpowering
With emotions

Confusion
In clarity
Dedication
Being committed
To someone
Other than self

With
Trust in faith
That only two
may encounter
In its presence

Together as
One
These are only some
Of my meanings
I am sure
That you have
Yours
May I hear them

Loves Meaning

13

Let not your passion
Become a desire
Of your love
Nor your dedication
To find

Hold a love
Be converted into
A slave of your love
Learn from love
As one would learn from life

For their teachings are of the same
There are no boundaries
Or limitations
That confines love
Or life

Remember
If love perishes from within
Life perishes from without
Therefore, are you living
Your life

By
Loving
Or loving
Your life
By living

Remember

14

Love is like the sun
Reaching out with long fingers
Penetrating through walls of ice
Melting the heart

Like the moon
A shiny aluminums glow
Reaching within the darkness
Illuminating the soul

Like the stars
Burning ever so bright
Let not too close
As to burn each other out

Like the rain
A showering delivery
Of nectar
To quench a thirst

Yet most of all
Love is like you
Pure, wild, full of life
And beautiful

Is Like

15

I would like to have
Moved slower towards
Knowing
Each other’s being
Holding time still

I wish
That we had taken the time
To know
The things
About Each other
That we should have
Known

For
The beginning
The end
Are in themselves
The pleasure
That lies within
A life span of love

However
Temporary
It may seem
To have been
We had ours

I Wish

16

Reaching for the hope of morning
While awakening from the illusion of night
I found the fantasy
Of your imagination

Fragments of a forgotten life
Once lived, once love
The destination of my destiny
Was completely detached
From my reality
At the moment I met you

I recalled that moment
When we loved
Yet the feelings
I remember
Where the ones
I wanted to forget

Especially as I raise
To greet
The coming day
Alone again.

I Remember

17

Seeing you again makes me reveal
All those fears I tried to conceal
Fear protects you
From those things
You do not believe in

I feel so lost so confused
I thought I knew what I wanted
I was so sure of my self
My life was so, well planed

What is this need
Within me
What am I
Searching for

I must find out this thing about me
This desire so deep inside
Today, I have seen
Yesterday, I saw
Tomorrow, I my see

18

In seeking individuality
Duality is often the results
In the fragmentations
Of the mind

Hidden beneath the memories
Of your own being
Are the conscious realities
That you seek

The totality of the self
Yourself
In relationship
To its own existence

Expression of thought
Is the conception
You seek
What is more, deny
