The calm after the storm

The calm after the storm

A Poem by jamal

The calm after the storm

After devastation falls and the calm sways us like children,

we wait patiently,

for our fears to pass, for our heavy tears to be the last,

we wait for yesterday pain to become our past.

We close our eyes, as we remember the cheerful laughs,

but we forget the hands within our reach,

we pull away

yet the voices wont leave,

they stand firm,

to guide those who dont believe.

Thank you ganga ramesh :)
'This too shall pass' comes to mind, which is a idiom I can't stand, but you've put it in such a way that is soothing and enjoyable without undermining the enormity of the situation. Nice one jamal.
