Feeling Good Alone

Feeling Good Alone

A Poem by JC

I walk the streets
like a hand
caressing curves
and marvel at the
edges of architectural
beauty surrounding me...

see me?

your energy knocks
my footing off and
I teeter...

you probably thought
I was drunk or weak
as I stumbled past you

you'd be right in both cases...

you're beautiful too...
so f*****g beautiful...
but i'd be lying if
i didn't say i felt relief
and calm when i was
once again alone
with the dead static aesthetic
of streets and buildings
that hold no judgement.

Interesting read. The thought that streets and buildings don't pass judgement but hold more character than the people walking on them.

Very expressive piece. I could think for a while on this poem!
I like how you compare buildings and people. Sometimes beauty is best enjoyed at a distance and some beauty is only skin deep. I like the last line...that hold no judgement...buildings hold strength, beauty, and stay the same where as many people appear to be but only few are genuine. Well written!

Really enjoyed it. Nicely written. Although, the lower case "i" makes the inner grammar Nazi of me cringe. Heehee
Very well done, nonetheless.

haha, I hear ya, I got lazy...thanks a bunch tho, really appreciate it
I enjoy the way you bring the words to life, really capturing the feeling of the moment. I could vividly picture every detail of a specific street I had on my mind. Dead silence is sometimes the best noise of all, I think.

Buildings have a beauty all their own if we stop to look at them. They're like older adults that accept us as we pass. Alone themselves.
