Lesson of 1/28 Hospital Stay

Lesson of 1/28 Hospital Stay

A Poem by Jay Steitler
"

Reflections on staying positive, in a terrible health crisis.

"
Embrace The Suck. Bad things, happen to good people. Embrace your own, and do not get caught up in another's. It is your teacher. Learn from it! Not embracing the hurdles that come your way, is called resistance. Resistance goes out into the Universe, and the energy manifests negativity. More bad could continue. It becomes a vicious cycle. Stay immune. Stay positive my friends! Refuse to come down. We are born of blood; we die of blood. Yes, better to learn to love The Suck, and hope for brighter days!

Makes a lot of sense. What you give the universe, it gives back. Sorry to hear of your health problems.

Thanks Sami. You are a poet mentor of sorts, so the feedback on this piece means alot. Been through physical hell in the past week. Holding firm against the Reaper.

I needed to hear this:

Embrace the suck.

My body is deteriorating. This is not my choice.
My attitude is deteriorating. This is my choice.

I gotta choose different. I.gotta.choose.

I am 46. I'm up there for Spina Bifida. We'll choose the positive, together. Thanks for reading!
