A God at Sundown

A God at Sundown

A Poem by J Brandon C

My words have rhythm and persistency

I speak in flames of which created me

My sadness has a constant beat, its my melody

yet its constantly haunting me, I find harmony

in the sorrow sea that has chosen me

to drown in when it becomes too much

Love is the only thing that can save me now

My soul will not be saved from love though

What a foolish distraction love can be

one minute you are flying, and the next,

you are drowning in a sea

I am a God at Sundown, writing verses in the sky

with my words, i slit wrists and burn bridges down

to show people how beautiful arrangements of words

has the ability to destroy this whole damn world
