Get It Right

Get It Right

A Poem by Joshua David Dary
"

Just something I wrote on a morose evening.

"
"Get it right," I say.
There's too much on my mind today.
"Get it right," you say.
Trust me, I would, but you're the one in my way.

"Set your s**t straight," I tell myself.
I'm taking my heart, and wishing you well.
"Set your s**t straight," you tell me.
I shall, my dear, as unbearable as the pain may be.

"Goodbye, farewell," I declare with finality.
I'm done being torn apart, wallowing in all this misery.
"Goodbye, farewell," this rusted life of mine.
I'll get my s**t straight, and get it right.

For real this time.
