Mankind Breaking Earth's Heart

Mankind Breaking Earth's Heart

A Poem by Jeanelle Rochel
"

From oil spills killing hundreds of aquatic animals to ignoring the effects to global warming. Mankind know how they are hurting the plant we live in, and still continue to justify their actions.

"

The sun, the moon, the stars

with light that shines so far.

Dying, with plastic in the seas

barks cut limb by limb,

trim, trim, trim.

Getting hotter day by day

but no one seems to care, just another say.

That viscous black liquid, poured like sauce

dolphins, turtles, fishes innocently stumbling across.

Man wanting to leave behind their errors

headlines reading water on mars, man please beware.

Years will pass, and history will iterate

but that seems to be the definition of fate.

Please I am your home,

life has been so rough,

I gave you everything I had

but I guess that was not enough.
