Blushing Joke

I never uttered a word when my heart was beating

So loud that I heard nothing else.
When your eyes rested on my face it was painful.
I would burn red, leaking emotions and overheating.
I panicked and fled.

Quietly loving you from the hidden shadows.
I spent all my time alone thinking of you,
Imagining things that were never to be.

My pair of gloves you tried on calling, "cool,"
Well I never forgot and I held them close.
You gave me a nickname, "JK."
It stands for joke.
I am a joke.
