Why Not

Look not at who I was

But at who stands before you

And who I might be.

Our faults are ripples

Fading on the surface.

There might be so much to confess.

Why not rise to the sky,

Growing a third knowledgeable eye?

Study not into what troubles you,

But enlighten yourself

With that which brings life unto you.

I really like this- don't dwell on the past but live for the present and see the potential in the future. When you care about someone and know they have been hurt in the past you might wish you could take it away but doing that would take away the person thy have become and could become n the future. i think this is a sentiment you captured very well. This poem spoke to me- thanks for sharing
