Classy - to -- Nasty

Classy - to -- Nasty

A Poem by jen -- JG
"

this is now......................

"

Classy---to ---Nasty

She went into the shop one day

Searching for a dress

Low neckline

……Knee length

…………Fantastic

………..Classy!

She went to see the doctor

Trouble with her breast

Then came a test

…..Off came

……..Her breast

………….Nasty!

She went to have a fitting done

At the special bra boutique

Matched the sizes

…. None the wiser

………wears new dress.

………….Classy!

She went to see the doctor

It’s time for her "all clear"

A final check

…….another test

……….. the other breast!

……………..Nasty!

She is waiting for a fitting

At the special bra boutique

Can choose the size

…….. it’s all damn lies

…………but big or small

……………..Classy.

She went to see the doctor

Not yet been a year

….More tests

……….more fears

……………..more tears

………….Nasty!

They can cut whatever they want out of us...
But it is the integrity of the soul that makes us who we are...
The Beauty that we are...

You...ARE Classy.....

I am a breast cancer survivor, and I'm not yet out one year. Buying clothes is something at the bottom of my list...perhaps it is because I wonder why bother at this point. Our physical shell is only the outside of ourselves...it is not what defines the being that lives inside. Finding this truth and believing it in the heart is a huge and painful step in growth. Re-joining a world where a person is defined at "first sight" is a step that must be made. This dress purchasing experience, then visit to the doctor explains the pain in simple form. Interesting approach.

I have read quite a bit of breast cancer related things lately. This is one of the most touching because of it's simplicity.

A great deal of sorrow, but even more dignity here.
