A Poem by jenniewren (J.W. Bouwman)

you fill the spaces between my vowels
with syllables i'd not thought of, before you...
the eager consonant i can feel stretch itself, cheekily,
to surround my sometimes silent y
is never an unwelcome house guest
never needs to be turfed for having stayed
a week past permission's leaving

your tingly trigonometries of metered verse
sit snugly beside my unruly brambles of thought
with nary a whimper bespoken betwixt them
aside from the simple sigh borne of
the ongoing realisation that glossolalia has a cure:

your words,
which slip inside my own meanderings
of wild things that desire to be claimed,
with an ease as if they'd always meant to be there
but had forgotten the proper route, til now

You are a wordsmith of sort..i have been following your words for some time now Jen..and there is no poem of yours which does not amaze me.Always either the content or the words or even both have this fresh spark to them....almost like mint fresh breath :)..
I have to say i am in love with the last stanza..
your words,
which slip inside my own meanderings
of wild things that desire to be claimed,
with an ease as if they'd always meant to be there
but had forgotten the proper route, til now..
Oh!!..i could read those lines again..again...
Brilliant..

wow! is it strange that this poem turned me on? hahaha!

I love the sensual descriptions of putting words together, and the coy tone that coaxes the reader inward to explore a world of words.
very cool!
cheers!

All I can say is, wow. You're a genius at writing. I love this poem, and I think it's a wonderful piece. I could definitely see it becoming a song one day, wonderful work. Keep it up.

There is tender sadness as well as joy in Magic. When someone knows your words its pretty much 'Magic' - and like I said it comes with a package. :-)

you are one of very few to whom even stars look up aghast and mouth agape at how the heavens were created...

Introspective look into the mind.. your comparisons of one giving you such new thoughts and feelings as if creating new words and rules of grammar is excellent! Wondrous notions come alive to express this one who helps complete the world around you.

Finding the right words and making them welcome as if a long lost friend has now found his way home is so nice. Paper and pen are the keys to the path of satisfaction for some if only they can get past those unruly brambles. Really nice job Jen.
