I Watched the Delicate Snow

I Watched the Delicate Snow

A Poem by jennilouhoo

I watched the delicate snow slowly descend from the sky, appearing out of thin air,
only to perch upon my nose and burrow in my hair.
The peaceful quiet that came with the snowfall blanketed the earth, even quieting my mind.
It was not to be interrupted for even the mightiest god.

I wished to be covered in a layer of the snow,
disappear from my noisy thoughts and troubles too hot to handle,
But when the flakes met my flushed cheeks,
they dissolved into nothing and ran dripping down my face.

Quiet persistence, as held by the snow, continued to cover the blades of grass until they could be seen no more.
If the snow could achieve so much just by treading on no matter what stood in its way,
Then so could I.
For if the snow can blanket the earth in one hour alone,
then surely I could overcome these teenage blues.
