Handsome

Handsome

A Poem by jessfoundwonder

Take me to the blackest part of the night
I want to walk on glass, through trees, in them
And throw me at your dogs, your meanest nightmares
I'm poised, I'm poisoned, but never wasted

Did you think I looked pretty with my face caved in like that?
Shoot your stars at me, I'm dying to be seen
My heart isn't big enough
Neither is my chest
All that's left are my indecisions and this pencil

Push the sharpened end right through me
I want to feel a new kind of pain
I want to run with the horses
I want the stampede, the force of it, the destruction

I'm spinning with this wrecking ball
Come closer, you never know what's real until you feel it
How could you have known my insides got tangled
How could you have known my senses got burned

I knew. I burned them with that candle
I didn't want to feel, but they find other ways
Like when you pushed me off that balcony
You taught me to love your pain
