I want to know

I want to know

A Poem by Jessica Harmony

I want to know your definition of beauty
if it looks anything like the stars in your eyes
or the galaxy above us the night we tried to see the city
from the sky
i want to know
if broken bones
hurt as much as broken hearts and
if the only thing i've ever broken is a pinky toe
what it feels like
to break your ribs
to feel your heart ache
for real
i want to know
if you'll still love me
when i break down
into little pieces,
i don't know how good you are at puzzles
have you ever tried one where some pieces
are missing
i want to know
what you will do
when i tell you i cannot do this anymore
that this beautifully tragic life is not for me
that i am not a poet
and i will not die like one
i want to know
how to be your definition of beautiful
and how to be the stars in your eyes
and how to see the city
from the sky.

Just another number, darling. Nothing to the world. Bet I'm a statistic, baby. Just the broken girl. I'm 17. I love to write poetry and i'm currently writing a novel. Most of my poems on her.. more..
