Ὀρφεύς

Ὀρφεύς

A Poem by Lady Lazarus.
"

Keep looking back and stopping the future.

"
This coarse honey which has muted
you gave the crayons to help me colour
head low,my arms and legs are rooted
into soil that yields nothing ,but dandelions

I drift it apart and I contemplate nothing
whilst you swim so valiant and supernal
perhaps we can dive and hold our breaths
pulseless we crash into the world
muffled and mumbled we return
to a place we're strangers to

running forwards always progressing
seem to only accomplish a decent pace
threw away my lyre and forgot the condition
I turned round to face you....I looked back.

I drift it apart and I contemplate nothing
whilst you swim so valiant and supernal
perhaps we can dive and hold our breaths
pulseless we crash into the world
muffled and mumbled we return
to a place we're strangers to

much to weary for adulterated pleasures
though I tell myself I really want them
This fatigue has made me so young
crying for the intimacy
